Every Sunday morning, my father would lovingly prepare breakfast in bed for my Mother. My sister and I would run from our beds to join her for this weekend family ritual. The crowded breakfast tray would always arrive laden with eggs, toast, coffee, juice - finished with a fresh flower in a small crystal vase. In our excitement, the vase would invariably topple over and we'd all be eating soggy toast. Le Petit Dej was born out of my desire to keep this tradition alive for my own family - sans wet toast.
